Documentary-style photography for backpacking retreat in the Colorado great outdoors

A Denver-based guiding and tour company, wanted to celebrate their incredible team with a summer adventure that reflected who they are. Fun, connected, and inspired by the outdoors.

They planned an overnight hiking and camping trip to Finch Lake in the heart of Rocky Mountain National Park.

It was the perfect blend of work and play. A chance for employees to unwind, laugh, and enjoy the natural beauty of Colorado together. We hiked beneath bluebird skies, shared good food and conversation, threw a few snowballs, and relaxed in hammocks overlooking alpine views.

As their event photographer, I approached the weekend with a documentary-style eye, capturing candid, natural moments that highlight the people behind the company and the wild, beautiful places they share with their guests. The images showcase a commitment to community, adventure, and the landscapes that make Colorado such a special place to live and work.

For an outdoor brand like this one, authentic event photography becomes more than just documentation. It’s a visual story of culture and connection.
