Fall Fun Family Photo Session | Mount Falcon West
Wind, Wonder, and Family Ties. Chasing light & Natural, Joyful Family Moments in the Denver Foothills
Jenna reached out to me aiming to capture beautiful & relaxed outdoor portraits of her lovely family in the crisp autumn light with mountain views & room to explore for her little ones.
We decided that Mount Falcon West in the Denver foothills was the perfect location. Easy access with lots of room to roam for the little explorers. When we met, the weather was looking ominous. A cold front was sweeping across the mountains as we watched a giant grey cloud barreling towards us. It came in hot…or should I say cold? Good one huh?
We sat patiently waiting it out. In a few minutes time, the temperature dropped 10 degrees, but we could see a spot of blue sky behind the front. And just as quickly as the weather moved in-it moved right on out leaving beautiful crisp light in its wake. As soon as we began our photo session, the kiddos were full of energy, and I loved it. Running wild, being silly and having a blast. They interacted with me very quickly and even called me by my name. They’d say “Hey Ryan, can you take a photo photo on me over on this rock?” I’d say that’s a true family photo success when the kiddos are finding spots and asking for photos.
We were treated to really beautiful skies as the sun set and took in the last moments of life on a beautiful outcropping overlooking the western Rocky Mountain skyline. It was a really special family photoshoot full of natural moments, genuine fun and some tender & intimate loving times as well. If you’re looking for a family photo session for your high-energy, full of personality kids, then Mount Falcon West is a wonderful spot with plenty of wide paths, rock outcroppings and meadows to roam around. Send me a message and book your fun family photo session today!
Here’s what Jenna had to say about her family’s experience working with me:
“Wow! I can’t recommend Ryan enough! His friendly demeanor helped my 3- and 4-year-old kiddos feel comfortable right away, and he was so patient and flexible — even willing to wait out some bad weather. I honestly didn’t think we got many good shots with the wind blowing everyone’s hair around, but Ryan captured the perfect moments at just the right time. The photos turned out beautifully — natural, joyful, and so “us.” We’re beyond happy with how everything came out "and can’t wait to work with him again!”
