High School Graduate Photography at City Park in Denver, Colorado
A relaxed and stylish graduate session capturing personality, confidence, and winter golden hour light
You might’ve seen Marijoy and her sons and pup in my family gallery section from our winter session at City Park in Denver. If you caught a glimpse of their big smiles and incredible hair, you’d remember. That session was special on its own , but it also marked a big moment for her son, Lincoln, who was getting ready to graduate high school.
Marijoy told me Lincoln wasn’t into the whole cap-and-gown, stiff-pose thing. He wanted something a little more low-key. Something outdoors, natural, a bit cooler and truer to who he is. And honestly, that’s exactly the kind of session I love. I’m not here to create portraits for social media likes or overly stylized backdrops. I want to make images that feel like you, something genuine that you can look back on years from now and think, “Yeah, that was me. And I was pretty dang cool.”
Lincoln was a joy to work with. Between the family shots, I pulled him aside for a few senior portraits in that soft, golden winter light. His energy was calm and grounded. As an introvert myself, I felt that. I saw him and our energy connected well. I wanted the photos to reflect that version of him, not some forced version of what senior photos are “supposed” to look like.
Here are a few moments from our time together. I really loved photographing this family. They showed up as their full, authentic selves. If that’s the kind of vibe you’re looking for in your own graduation portraits, something natural, relaxed, and unapologetically you, I’d be honored to help tell that story. Book your senior graduation portraits.
Here’s what Marijoy had to say about working together:
“Working with Ryan for my son’s senior photos was a treat! His calm demeanor, authenticity, and obvious skill as a photographer allowed the whole family to join in the fun of documenting this chapter. Ryan was generous, and incredibly efficient in his turnaround time. 10 out of 10 recommend!”
